Make a Difference With Us

Rooted in faith and guided by purpose, we’re changing lives and building stronger communities. You can be part of it. Join us as a volunteer, partner, or donor.

This is a safe haven created specifically for our inner-city youth—a place where they are seen, supported, and spiritually nurtured. They know this as their “Fathers House” where they are always welcome.
As a youth church, we provide a welcoming environment rooted in faith, love, and community, where young people can grow in their relationship with God and with one another. In addition to spiritual guidance, we meet practical needs through our food pantry, offering meals and snacks to ensure no youth leaves hungry. The Sanctuary also offers an Art Therapy program, weekly games, and engaging activities throughout the week that promote creativity, healing, and healthy social connection. We provide tutoring support, discipleship-focused Bible studies for high school students, and mentorship that encourages personal growth, leadership, and positive life choices—helping each young person thrive spiritually, academically, and emotionally.

This is where connection, joy, and belonging come to life.Every weekend, youth from the surrounding community are welcomed into a safe, fun-filled space just outside The Sanctuary. This is where they can run freely, laugh loudly, and simply be kids. In this large fenced-in area, they enjoy jump rope, whiffle ball, soccer, football, crafts, and snacks. This is a place where friendships naturally form and over the years these friendships become like family to many. After time spent playing together, everyone gathers inside The Sanctuary for church, grounding the day in Faith and Hope. During the winter months, all activities are moved indoors to continue providing a warm, welcoming environment. These outreach days are also open to volunteers, to sign up, who have a heart to serve the youth. They help to create meaningful connections, offer support, and helping us continue to build a community where every child feels safe, valued, and the love of Christ.

Academics and a Spiritual foundation is a vital part of our commitment to long-term transformation in the lives of our youth. Since 2019, SHA has partnered with Dawn Treader Christian School to provide select children—chosen through prayer—with the opportunity to receive a Christ-centered education. Through donor-funded scholarships, these students are able to attend a nurturing academic environment where faith, character, and excellence are emphasized. Our support does not stop at tuition; we walk alongside each child throughout the school year, offering encouragement, resources, and guidance to help them succeed spiritually, academically, and personally. Your generosity helps open doors to education, stability, and to lay a foundation of a future rooted in faith and purpose.

This is a space for healing, expression, and restoration in the lives of our youth. Many that come to us have been through a lot of trauma by a young age. Through canvas or furniture painting, drawing, and a variety of creative crafts, young people are given a voice when words are hard to find. In these moments, art becomes a doorway to the heart, allowing emotions to surface in a safe and nurturing environment. Alongside the creative process, our mentors take time to listen, encourage, and gently counsel each child, helping them work through pain, build confidence, and rediscover hope. Through art, our youth experience healing, they learn to communicate and are reminded that their stories matter, their lives have purpose and they’re given Hope.

We provide inner-city youth with opportunities to experience life outside the city in ways that are fun, safe, and confidence-building. Through beach days, carnivals, movies, arcades, and other outings, children get to enjoy new environments and feel comfortable in places they may have never visited before. These experiences help broaden their perspective, spark curiosity, and open their eyes to the world beyond their neighborhood. As they explore and have fun, they also witness God’s goodness through new sights, laughter, and shared moments—reminding them that the world is wide, welcoming, and full of possibility for them.

This is one of the most anticipated and life-changing experiences we offer our youth each year. Through generous sponsorships, we send children to a faith-based sleep-away camp in Pennsylvania called Inspired Sports Camps.
With each sponsorship every child is brought to camp with everything they need to attend—including all camp supplies—so no family is burdened by cost. For one unforgettable week, our youth are able to step outside the pressures of city life, experience nature, build friendships, and simply get to be kids. They get to enjoy many activities throughout the week like zip lining, rock climbing, hiking, fishing canoeing, dance, basketball and soccer.
In a nurturing, Christ-centered environment, they learn how to seek God personally and grow in their faith, while nightly messages from encouraging and motivating speakers—many who share similar backgrounds and stories of success—ignite hope and purpose. These camp experiences make so many unforgettable memories and leave a lasting impact, shaping hearts, strengthening faith, and inspiring our youth long after they return home.
